Household Records Programme · January – December 2024
Starting Point
The household had documents spread across three drawers and two cardboard boxes. EPF statements, insurance policies, a property title, and a mix of bank correspondence — none of it labelled or categorised. The set-up session in January took three hours to sort.
What the Programme Did
A filing structure was agreed at the set-up session. Three check-ins across the year allowed new documents to be added to the correct sections as they arrived. The closing session in December refreshed the folder and completed a gap list of documents worth obtaining copies of.
Where It Ended
At year-end, the household had a structured folder covering eight document categories with every item labelled. Fourteen documents previously missing had been located or identified as needing replacement. The family notes the folder is now straightforward for any family member to use independently.

Group Reading Series · February – March 2025
Starting Point
A retired civil servant who had received KWAP pension correspondence for eighteen years without fully reading the accompanying explanatory documents. The scheme guides had been discarded over the years.
What the Series Did
The four-week reading series included a full session on KWAP documentation in week two. Using the printed reference pack, the group read through the public KWAP guides page by page. The session leader noted the sections most relevant to participants with existing pension correspondence.
Where It Ended
The participant left the series with a printed reference pack he could compare against his existing KWAP correspondence. He also enrolled in a records map session the following month to map the household documents using that context.
"I had received those KWAP letters for nearly two decades without sitting down to read the explanatory booklets. The series gave me a reason to read them properly for the first time."
