Our Approach
How every Pensaria session is structured.
Every session at Pensaria — whether individual or group, short or year-long — follows the same underlying structure: we identify what documents are present, we read the relevant pages together, and we record what was found. That record is produced in writing and given to the participant before they leave.
The session leader does not interpret documents in the context of any individual's personal situation. They point to the relevant sections, read them aloud if that helps, and note where the public reference material for further reading can be found. Participants are encouraged to ask what a page says, not what it means for them specifically.
Identify
Inventory all documents present and note what categories are missing from the household file.
Read
Work through each document page by page. Public scheme material is read alongside household documents.
Record
Produce a written record of what was found, where it is kept, and what reference materials apply.
Organise
Sort remaining documents into labelled categories so the folder can be maintained independently after the session.
Session One
Single-Session Records Map for Individuals
RM 490 · Three hours · One-on-one
A three-hour one-on-one session that produces a personal records map — a one-page document showing where every important household paper lives, what is missing, and what reference materials are publicly available for further reading. The session is organisational. It does not interpret any of the documents and does not address individual situations beyond the basic task of mapping what is where.
- One-page personal records map produced during the session
- Full inventory of documents present and absent
- Annotated list of relevant public reference materials
- Documents remain with participant throughout
How the session runs
Documents are laid out and sorted into broad categories (pension, insurance, property, other).
Each document is identified by type and location, and a gap list of common missing documents is started.
Relevant public reference materials are matched to each document category and noted on the records map.
The completed one-page records map is handed to the participant. The session ends.
Session Two
Group Reading Series on Retirement Documentation
RM 1,650 per person · Four sessions over four weeks · Small group
A series of four reading sessions held over four weeks, focused on publicly available material describing how national retirement schemes are commonly documented. Participants read and discuss the source materials together, with a discussion leader who points to the relevant pages but does not interpret them in relation to any individual case. Participants receive a printed reading pack of public-source references.
- Four weekly sessions of approximately two hours each
- Printed reading pack covering EPF, KWAP, and PERKESO publications
- Groups of four to eight participants
- Discussion-led pace, not lecture-led
Series structure
Week 1: EPF documentation — what the fund produces, what statements show, where to find public guides.
Week 2: KWAP documentation for public sector scheme participants — correspondence types and reference guides.
Week 3: PERKESO retirement-related documentation and social security scheme records.
Week 4: Household files — bringing together scheme documents with insurance, property, and personal records.
Session Three
Household Records Programme for the Year
RM 4,380 per household · Five sessions over twelve months
A year-long programme designed for households that want to maintain a clean records system on a steady rhythm. Includes a set-up session at the start of the year, three check-in sessions across the year, and a closing review session in which the records folder is refreshed and re-organised as needed. The programme is purely organisational. Households receive a structured family records folder at the end of the year.
- Five sessions across the year (set-up, three check-ins, closing review)
- Structured family records folder provided at year-end
- Twelve-month calendar agreed at set-up session
- Spouse or adult family member may attend all sessions
Programme calendar
Set-up session (Month 1): Full records inventory, folder structure agreed, twelve-month calendar set.
Check-in 1 (Month 4): Review of any new documents received, update gap list, re-file as needed.
Check-in 2 (Month 7): Mid-year review of folder condition, addition of any new annual statements.
Check-in 3 (Month 10): Third-quarter review, preparation for year-end closing.
Closing review (Month 12): Full refresh, structured records folder assembled and handed over.
